We Defy Foundation proudly announces our inaugural Dallas Fundraising Gala will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the upscale The Highland Dallas, located in Dallas’ newest district, University Crossings.
The evening begins with a cocktail reception and uniquely curated silent auction, followed by a Tasting of the Town featuring 3 time James Beard-nominated Chef John Tesar’s Knife along with a hand-picked selection of Dallas’ top restaurants, and culminating with a Patriotic Guest Speaker and We Defy Athlete Panel you don’t want to miss! This event will showcase We Defy’s impact across the country and it is time to celebrate the Foundation’s growth, the strides being made by our We Defy Athletes, and the donors and supporters who continue making it possible.

The inaugural Dallas Gala is an opportunity for patriots, supporters, and friends alike to give back to our nation’s warriors and provide combat veterans coping with physical and mental disabilities direct access to alternative means of therapeutic relief through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The Gala’s highly coveted selection of silent auction items, drinks, Taste of the Town, short program, and guest speakers are all in benefit of combat veterans with military connected disabilities. To date, We Defy Foundation has awarded 110 Athlete Scholarships, placing 110 disabled combat veterans in gis and on the mats training Jiu Jitsu in a We Defy accredited facility for one year.
And the work isn’t over yet, We Defy has a wait list of disabled combat veterans eager to get on the mats and start training Jiu Jitsu but the Foundation must be able to fully fund the annual scholarship before taking a veteran off the list.
